A POSH Policy is used to inform employees of the POSH Act (The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace, Act 2013). The goal of this Policy is to provide every employee with a safe and secure workplace that is free of sexual harassment. The POSH Policy is applicable to all employees, members, partners, management or any other members of the organisation. In addition, the POSH Policy aims to safeguard its female workers wherever they go while working for the organization, including on any company-provided transportation.
Training of Employees
Training of employees of the organisation regarding the obligations mentioned under the POSH Policy is necessary for successful implementation of the Posh Policy in the organisation. Under training, a general overview in respect of the do’s and don’ts and other relevant details in respect of Sexual Harassment is provided to the employees so that no alleged activities of harassment takes place within the organization.
Training of Internal Committee Members
It is equally important to train the Committee members so that they have a set protocol which they shall abide and comply with while handling and addressing any issue or complaints in respect of the sexual harassment.
As per the law, it is mandatory to file compliance of the Act on an annual basis. Under POSH annual compliance, the organization should submit the annual report by 31st January for the previous calendar year highlighting the number of complaints received, resolved, pending, etc. to the appropriate authorities.
